BRIDAL: Wedding Day Beauty Essential - Faux Lashes

The ideal bridal makeup look is natural yet striking. The get the perfect balance, there’s no better tool than quality false eyelashes or eyelash extensions. One of the most eco-friendly and non-toxic ways to make your eyes pop is to put on a pair of Winks by Georgie Beauty. I have sampled all their lashes and they are just divine! For my wedding day, I wore the “L’Avant-Gardiste”. A wedding day is a long one and good lashes will always stay put, no matter what. BRIDAL: Wedding Veil and Bridal Hair Accessories

Bridal veils with clips or hair combs are ideal as you can easily attach them to your hairdo so they stay in place when your excited groom leans in for the kiss!

My wedding was small and intimate, so covering my face or head didn’t seem appropriate or modern. To compliment my vintage-like dress, I opted for a care-free, flowing veil by Minna Hepburn that would look beautiful with a variety of hairdos. When - on the day of! - Viola and I decided on this look (we’ll do a video tutorial soon), the bridal veil was easy to attach as it came with a hair comb. For the reception, Viola was quickly able to switch my veil to a hair piece made of vintage silks and antique buttons.

BRIDAL: Custom Made Wedding Dress

If you want a truly unique, custom-made dress, look for independent designers who specialize in bridal and can create the kind of feeling you are looking for. You will not only get personalized service and a one-of-a-kind dress; you will also save on buying a designer name right off the rack. 

After I said “I do” and we decided on an American winter wedding and a summer blessing in Finland, I wanted a dress that would work for both occasions and exude romance, with a bit of a vintage feel. 

My dream dress was the lace number by Oscar de la Renta featured on Runway to Green until I found Minna Hepburn. After multiple Skype consultations (Minna has a design studio in London), Minna custom created the patterns for the long train and deep V-neck and discovered the vintage buttons for the back and the peace silk that would line the Scottish lace. I got the dress hemmed and made slightly narrower by a local trailer and voilà! I loved every moment in that dress and I’m so blessed that I get to wear it again.
