TRAVEL: Family Garden Party A summer garden party in Finland means lake view, lots of coffee, homemade “korvapuusti,” and fresh strawberries. In honor of Annabella’s American husband’s very first visit to Finland, I hosted a family garden party for the couple and his parents and invited all of our siblings (there’s four of us) and their families. We began the evening with a vegan barbecue feast which I prepared with my husband, paired with biodynamic Austrian wine and followed deserts baked by our sister Miranda. Summer entertaining is one of my favorite things to do: even a casual party looks fun and fancy when you serve meals on colorful dishes with bold-colored napkins, set the table up with fresh flowers or bowls of fresh berries, and wear floral prints (both Annabella and I ended up wearing brown for this one, but we recommend going brighter)!    Did you know you can leave a photo reply? TRAVEL: Olavinlinna & Cold-Weather Summer Style I can finally share all the magical moments of my trip having just returned to Brooklyn and regular wi-fi access! With my husband and in-laws, I traveled to Finland to see the midsummer night sun and the Aida opera in a castle built in 1475 from as well as celebrate my wedding with my Finnish family and friends.  Style tips for traveling north in the summer:  Dress warm, but stick with light and bright colors: I’m wearing a long-sleeve peace silk dress by Ivana Basilotta that’s incredibly warm and light at the same time, Cri de Coeur studded vegan thigh-high boots in beige and H&M Conscious Collection blazer in nude (still available in some stores). The studded beige handbag is by Matt&Nat (old) and underneath it all I have navy thights by American Apparel. Outside, I also wore a Vaute Couture gray jacket (old).  Carry a colorful umbrella: mine is from Marimekko. Wear your hair up: a side braid looks chic, but lasts all day even when it’s rainy and windy outside Annabella, New York

THE FIND: Makeup with Diamonds

Created in my beautiful home country of Finland, these all-natural mineral highlighters have to be my most stunning beauty find of the summer. This collection that comes in luxe wooden compacts include a silver and gold shade, a shimmering bronzer and a light-reflecting blush with diamonds (59e at en.mschic.com; $85 at The Detox Market). Besides a concealer, blush, bronzer and a highlighter are a key to creating a glowing summer look. I hope to do a beauty tutorial soon!
