STYLE: WALK IN THE PARK

Have you seen Kate Bosworth rocking those mid-calf pencil skirts (especially at Burberry FW2012 show)? She is my height (5’5”) and completely inspired me to test this style that I had banned from my wardrobe. The skirt I’m wearing is part of the same Carrie Parry autumn collection that you saw on yesterday’s post; chic and comfortable as it falls slightly loose straight down the hips. I think this look is perfect for a walk in Central Park after a day in the office (bring ballerina flats!), when the leaves change color. What do you think is the optimal length for a pencil skirt? Would you dare to try the longer version? (This skirt will also be on missqa.com soon!)

THE FIND: Blue Striped Tom’s These Blue Beckett Women’s Vegan Classic flats ($54) by Toms Shoes complete a chic, casual outfit. Last night I had a dinner and movie date with my husband in Brooklyn, and taking into account all the puddles after hot summer day showers, I couldn’t figure out which shoes to wear to look cute in my cropped jeans and a tee. These would have been perfect! Stripes always look stylish and sophisticated, even if your outfit is otherwise cool and casual. Blue Striped Toms are a weekend wear must-have and of course, how chic is the fact that every time you purchase a pair, a child-in-need gets a pair too?  - Annabella, New York
